Change Your traditional startup and Logoff screens

To change your start up screen:

First Create a 320x400 bitmap in the root directory 
Now give it a name as LOGO.SYS
From now your startup screen will be changed to the given image or your selected image!

To change your logoff screen:

In the Windows directory there are two files named LOGOW.SYS and LOGOS.SYS. In which LOGOW.SYS is the "Wait while Shutting down …" screen. Where as LOGOS.SYS is the "You may now shut-off or Reboot screen".
Now here what you have to do is to make two files in a paint brush and just name it as LOGOW.SYS and LOGOS.SYS. Than you have to replace this files with an actual windows file.
That’s it!
Here it should be noticed that these both files should have same size. Other wise undesired result will come! But its not a major matter. Enjoy!

Trick to lock any folder in windows xp

Many people are using many soft wares to lock their folder. But it is possible to lock any folder without any soft ware. So here is the trick to lock any folder without any software.

First create a Folder in C drive. Give a name as you like. As for example give a name as "TricksLab" without quotes.
From the start menu go to cmd means command prompt. Or simply go to run command and type cmd and press enter.
Type "attrib +s +h C:\abc" without quotes and press enter.
This command will Make your folder invisible and it can not be seen even in hidden files and folders
To make it visible again type "attrib -s -h C:\abc"

Speed Up XP Booting

Start Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).

Locate the following key in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Current ControlSet\Control\Ses sionManager\MemoryManagement\Prefetch Parameters

Make sure you backup the keys by exporting them to a .reg file.

On the EnablePrefetcher value, change the setting from 3 to 5 (decimal).

Close the registry editor.

Restart your computer.

METHOD :1

Right click on your desktop and choose "New=>shortcuts".
In the box that says "Type the location of the shortcut",
type in "shutdown -s -t 3600" without the quotation marks and click next. Note: 3600 are the amount of seconds before your computer shuts down. So , 60secs*60mins=3600secs.
Make up a name for the shortcut and you're done.
You can change the icon by right clicking=>properities=>change icon=>browse
Right click on your desktop and choose "New=>shortcuts".
